Kuala
Lumpur, Malaysia is a diverse mix of Indian, Chinese,
and Malay influences which is reflected in the inner-city's
neighborhood-like layout. Inside the city proper is the "Golden
Triangle", ostensibly the central business district with
many first class hotels and over-the-top shopping options. In
the city is also the Putra
World Trade Centre. On the edge of the city lies Petaling
Jaya, an up-and-coming part of the KL scene. But much of the
city's expansion and modernity is happening in the outer areas
around KL with Putra Jaya being the new seat of the federal
government (where Dr. Mahathir retired in October, 2003) and
Cyber Jaya - a dedicated "intelligent" city for multimedia
companies. Both lie in the designated Multimedia
Super Corridor (MSC). A sparkling new Formula One race track
sits at Sepang, just a few minutes from the spectacular, new
Kuala Lumpur International Airport!
